Hi there, my name is Sara and I am the owner and creator of The Forest Fern. The Forest Fern was born in early 2016 when I started to create macrame wall hangings for my own home and quickly realized that I wanted to share my art with those around me.
I create modern fiber art, including macrame and tapestry weavings and handmade ceramics. My style is clean and simple, never fussy. I evaluate each and every piece that I create and run it against my own measures of balance and form. My work is always evolving as I experiment with new materials and techniques and through collaborations with other makers and artists. All of my work is created in my home that I share with my husband and two young children.
2017 brought the opportunity to share my passions with other fiber enthusiasts through teaching engagements at workshops and retreats. All of my upcoming workshops are announce on my Upcoming Events page. If you are interested in hosting a workshop with The Forest Fern, I would love to talk with you about the different classes that I can provide.
In addition to my own art, I also love to work with other makers and entrepreneurs to create promotional campaigns, develop new product lines and facilitate launches.
Make sure to follow me on Instagram for inspiration, tips and a behind-the-scenes look at my work and life.
How can I order something from The Forest Fern?
I'm so happy that you love the products here. You can check out my Etsy page for current products available for sale. I promote my work though Instagram (@the_forestfern) so that's the best place to find out about new products, giveaways and upcoming Flash Sales.
Most of my work is made-to-order and my plant hangers are made specifically to each vessel. I would love to work with you to create something that is perfect for you. Please contact me if you would like to discuss a custom piece.
I don't see anything listed on your Etsy page. What's going on?
Due to increasing interest in my products, from time to time I have to close my Etsy shop to ensure delivery of custom orders. Unless noted, I am usually still accepting custom orders (just contact me to discuss a project just for you) and from time to time you can find something for sale on Instagram with a special Flash Sale.
Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely. I would love to work with you to create something truly unique. Please contact me for additional information.
